A look back on the year that was 2024

2024 has been a landmark year for WEL, filled with growth, collaboration, and new opportunities. Under the first year of leadership under new CEO, Ehsan Haque, we expanded our workforce by more than 200%, welcoming a diverse team of office staff, maintenance workers, cleaning crew, and on-site staff. This growth reflects our commitment to creating meaningful employment opportunities for Wajarri people.

This year we launched an equal partnership in managing onsite village operations at the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) in Western Australia's Midwest. This initiative has already created numerous new jobs for the Wajarri community and set the foundation for further economic participation in this groundbreaking global project.

In August we began an exciting new contract with Strandline Resources, acquiring an excavator to support operations at their Coburn site. This investment led to two permanent roles for Wajarri people, strengthening our capabilities in the region while offering potential training on site and future room for employment opportunities.

Thank You for a Wonderful Year! See You in 2025

As the year ends, the WEL team thanks our friends, partners and all who supported us throughout 2024. Please note that our office will be closed from 20th December 2024 and will reopen on 6th January 2025.

We wish you a joyful holiday season and as we reflect on a successful year, we look forward to what awaits us in the new year. Stay safe, enjoy good company, and take the time to rest and reset this festive break!
